May Plans

Whoa, it is May already!?!  How did that happen so fast?  It seriously feels like it was just January, but no we are in fact upon the summer season in a month.

May is a pretty busy month for me.  I have plans and I am kind of excited.

The first weekend of May, also Cinco de Mayo, I am headed off to Mammoth for a few days of snow, booze, and memories.  I love Mammoth, it is gorgeous in every season.  I am hoping for little crowds and lots of laughter.

The second weekend in May is all about Catalina.  My sister and I got this as a birthday gift for Mom so we are embarking on a day trip.  I am hoping for golf cart shenanigans and day drinking with some good seafood thrown in the mix.

The third weekend of May is a girl's river trip with a few members of my girl tribe.  It is the perfect opportunity to spend time at the pool and work on the tan.

Then it is the end of May and Memorial Day weekend.  Which will obviously be another river trip.  I am so excited for this month, but I am sure my bank account and credit cards won't be thrilled come June 1st.

Weekend Recap- GOOD TIME

Oh lord it is Monday.. A foggy, wish I could stay in bed type Monday.  Actually the weather is great, it's nice to have a seasonal storm rather than the endless summer that has become Southern Californian life.

My weekend was jam packed full of beer, sunshine an  country music.  So much that I may have even fallen down but we aren't going to discuss that as I am a complete klutz and if I am not falling down or tripping there is something seriously wrong with me.

Friday I was out of work a little after noon and hitched a ride with my parentals to head to Laughlin for their "Keepin It Country" weekend where Alan Jackson played with Brandy Clark and Jon Pardi on Saturday night.

I drank Bush Mills whiskey (worst idea ever) and some Bud Light.  I made new friends who apparently love Toby Keith in concert- which I do not.  We made it to the diner in a casino and had the weirdest waitress on the planet.  As in she undid and opened my flatware for me and laid the napkin in my lap.  It was too much and I got the giggles.  It was as if she was going to spoon feed me.  I guess I should feel lucky that I didn't get a bib tied around my neck.

Saturday was a late morning start and off to the pool for sun and beer.  It was so nice to be poolside in the month of February- not that I know what winter feels like anymore.

Saturday night was Alan Jackson and man is he a good performer.  We never even tried to head to our seats, we just stayed beer garden side with the luck of on stage tv screens as aid.  It was a great concert and we again drank WAY too much beer.

Typical boot and beer photo.

Seesters

He really does love us, even if he looks super annoyed.

I have no idea, but we were "that" group.

Aren't my parents totes adorbs?

Yes I could barely open my eyes and had to use the menu as a shield from flying ice and sugar packets...  Tsk tsk!

Sunday I was up at the ass crack to come home and basically was a worthless human yesterday!

Why I Could Live In A Hotel...

This past weekend took me out of my mountain comforts to my home away from home in Laughlin, Nevada. I was lucky enough to stop by Ludlow and Amboy and travel parts of the "Historic Route 66" running parallel to the Interstate 40. The only unfortunate part was traveling along with my parents, which meant having to snap photos from the backseat as we flew by at 60+ miles per hour. This act brought back the feeling of being seven years old and begging for a pee break. Thankfully now I know I can hold it.

We came across original structures along with abandon housing. It's incredible to think the installation of the I-40 ruined these towns. (These towns are the basis for "Radiator Springs" in Disney's animated film "Cars"in case you didn't already put that together.)

Arriving in Laughlin I lost some (ok a shit ton of it) money and I was in bed before my sister even got her butt there.

Saturday was filled with bloody Mary's, Bubba Gump's, watching everyone else gamble followed by dinner at the Saltgrass. If you have a Saltgrass near you, go ASAP, no questions asked. Be sure to order a Lone Star beer with a lime wedge and your steak medium (anything over that is just wrong and you should have to eat chicken or fish!). The Saltgrass is the only steak house that I have been to that I find reasonable on price with incredible steak. That is one thing Texans got right.

You're probably asking what any of this has to do with hotel living... Well alas
With my love of travel, there is a great fondness for "hotel living". I know, without a doubt, that I would thoroughly enjoy living in a hotel room. There would always be fresh linens and towels along with a made bed every night. Of course it would get a little pricey, especially if you're adding room service to the ticket!  Not to mention that hotels always have the best bars or are SUPER close to the best places in town.  Hotel life wakes me up early, even after a late night.  And HELLO to climate control.  I love being able to set the thermostat exactly where I want it.  (Hello bratty chick!)

I came home to a catastrophic loss in football.  I don't want to talk about.  Not right now, probably not ever.  I will say I want to see Peyton and Wes take it home especially after ghetto-fied Sherman's interview with Erin Andrews.  Talk about unprofessional.
