Weekend Recap

I did it, I broke down and finally decorated for fall...  Of course the temperature outside was about 85 degrees with no breeze, but I couldn't take it anymore.  I just had to do it!

Friday night I went to a sip and paint night.  We painted a fall scene, which I really enjoyed.  Normally I am a complete stress basket and freak out.  This go round was completely opposite.  I think it was because it was more impressionistic than perfectionist.  These sip and paint nights are super fun and I highly recommend finding one in your area to attend.  My sisters and I sat together with a few friends and there were laughs for days.  Our table was of course the loud one and people were semi-annoyed, but I think it was because they were super jealous over the fact that they weren't having all the fun with us.  It isn't every day you accidentally group text a dude who just wants to go to "da club".  Best paint night yet.

Saturday was full of football and cheer.  I am really proud of the girls I am coaching.  They missed a few parts, but pretty much nailed their routines.  There really is nothing compared to watching these kids succeed and the look on their faces when they realize they are capable and competent.

Sunday was relaxing and full of football, cleaning, and decorating for fall.  I decided that today I am starting the C25K challenge,  It runs three days a week for 8 weeks.  I am nervous, but stoked to get back into running so we will see how this goes. I also finished chapters 4, 5, and 6 of Patti's book so I will catch you up on that.  One thing is that I would much rather end up with a "Gary the Good Friend" over any of the other types....

Have a happy Monday.

Friday's Fall Favorites

Wednesday marked the first official day of fall which means pumpkin this and that, leaves changing colors and lots of Halloween decor.  I stopped by Target after my dental appointment (where I got an A+) and browsed their seasonal section.  Basically I fell in love with EVERYTHING.  The good news is that most stores have these have the items in stock.. The bad news, they don't sell them online.  Don't let that stop you, go get these things right now!

Those are just a few of the items I had to keep from jumping in basket.  You guys might as well call in sick for the rest of today and run to Target!

Storybook Fall

There is something so final about Labor Day and it makes me feel as if it is the last holiday of the year.  It really isn't, I mean I live for November and December and the holidays upon holidays of those months.  Maybe it is because it is like saying good bye to summer, but even that feels wrong.  Summer in the Southwest aka Southern California goes year round sometimes.

Labor Day also signals it is time for fall decor, football, hot apple cider, leaves changing colors, crisp air and pumpkin patches.  All of these things make a perfect story book fall to me.  However, there is that wonderful Southern California weather again that isn't too keen on making for a storybook fall and has me longing for destinations that are beautifully fall.

- Boston- I have always been intrigued with the fall colors of the East Coast along with the rich history just screams "perfect fall" to me.  Salem is near by and you can brush up on your Salem Witch Trial history while there.

- Nashville-  I was fortunate enough to spend five days in Nashville during the fall of 2012 and let me tell you it was absolutely gorgeous.  I think my favorite part was visiting The Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's plantation) with all of the trees changing colors.  If you ever get the chance, Nashville in the fall is the perfect place in my book.

- Montana-  I drove through the corner of Montana on a bender in November of 2013.  It was absolutely gorgeous and the weather perfect (it then snowed the night and next day).  The colors were perfectly golden.  I have since wanted to trek back and enjoy more time in the Montana fall.

So while some of you are enjoying crisp weather and leaves changing, please snapchat those images over to me and know that I am extremely jealous.

So Long September Weekends

This past weekend was the last for September 2014 so of course I had to have a party.  Well, ok, that wasn't the reason for the party, but you get the idea.

Saturday found me out and about shopping for fall/ Halloween decor and T.J. Maxx didn't disappoint me.  I ended up with a fancy table runner, a glittered purple spiderweb place setting and a few skull and cross bone wine glasses.  I was feeling fancy and all the loot was less than $50!!!!

I also decorated a pumpkin with a super easy kit from Target.  Target is really on the affordable pumpkin decorations.  This kit (dots with adhesive and bow) was either $3 or $5... I can't remember.

Sunday brought the party about and I was over joyed to host The Banner Girls in a home show.  These two ladies are amazing y'all!  I have never ever wanted every single decoration as much as I want everything they make.  If you can dream it up, these two can scheme it up.  Here is a taste of the transformation they made to my living room!

That is my mantle after the ladies left.  I was able to keep items from the home show which is great and really filled up my instant gratification.  I still have two signs coming and I have to pick out a few banners.  Like I said- these ladies are amazing.  Not to mention they will ship all over!  They have had orders filled in almost all 50 states, Australia and Malaysia!  If you are thinking of ordering, definitely visit them here!
