Heartbroken...

Yesterday's date will forever mark that date that many close friends of mine lost a true frined, a wife lost a husband and two children were left fatherless, a brother taken too soon and son taken before his time at the hands of a gunman in Big Bear, Ca. Although I did not know the deputy killed, I know many of his friends and I have to say, never once was a bad word spoken about him. His presence seemed to be the type that would light up a room and his laugh contagious. I feel utterly heartborken and shredded inside knowing there is a baby boy who will never know his true father, never have moments of laughter and disappointment adn most importantly the man himself who would help to shape this baby boy into a true man. I just don't understand, no matter how much you feel you are entitled, a person can take an innocent's life without a backward glance. I have always been taught you work hard for what you want, if you don't get it, you work harder. Taking something isn't an option. Whether or not the gunman was the ex-cop from the LAPD, it doesn't make it right. Furthermore, if you had such an issue with the LAPD why did you take two officer's lives that had nothing to do with the LAPD? Why take the lives of men who did you no worngs, they were just doing their jobs.... You know the job you so feverently fought to go back to. It is disgusting that we live in a world where people can be taken so maliciously from their loved ones and yet others feel the murderer is nothing more than a hero. I pray to the heavens above for peace to both officer's families and friends and pray they are watching over their loved ones every second of everyday. Rest in peace.
