I am almost 2 weeks into taking an Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) every morning. You can read my original post here. I decided to try this out for the health and weight management benefits.
Here are a few things I have found/encountered:
Refrigerating the ACV helps the shot (1 T ACV mixed with 1 T cold water) go down much easier.
My stomach still turns at the though of this shot first thing in the morning and my esophogus.
I have had heartburn twice, which means my heartburn has decreased since starting this on August 5th. The two days of heartburn were after nights of excessive drinking with my girls.
My tummy and stomach feels less bloated.
I have lost 1" around my wait and hips.
I am less hungry all day long, but that could also be attributed to the Thermofit I have been taking.
At this point, I don't plan on stopping until my month. At that point I will re-evaluate these morning shots, or I may step it up to one first thing in the morning and one before lunch.

Dietary Preferences
Last week I went out with a few friends for dinner and to catch up. We have always discussed different eating options. In fact this group of us have done Whole 30 before and one of us is now a modified paleo eater. This got us talking about people and how rude they can be when it comes to lifestyle changes and eating.
My entire theory is that if you are eating a specific way, you need to bring your own snacks and food, much like a person with allergies. This prevents any host from feeling like they have to accommodate everything for one particular person. While I do believe a good host will offer something special for someone with dietary restrictions, I don't believe it is necessary.
However, eating a particular way has made regular eaters a little bit judgey of those eating differently. For me, this first started in junior high school. I loved pretzels with mustard and have always been a water drinker. A girl at my lunch table looked at me and said "what are you, on a diet? You only ever eat a pretzel and water." I wasn't on a diet, that was my food preference at 13, but why did it matter? It is something that has only gotten worse.
This brings me back to the conversation form last week. One of the ladies had gone on vacation with her husband and another couple. She packed her paleo approved items and never once expected the other couple to adhere to her lifestyle. She said the other husband was a bit rude about her lifestyle choices, yet she opted to make a paleo dinner for everyone one night and surprise surprise, everyone loved it,
While it can be irritating to people outside of your dietary preferences, you should have to lie and say you're allergic. Frankly, how you eat is no one else's' business. The thing is, even if you don't agree or understand, you need to be supportive or keep your mouth shut. It doesn't matter if someone only eats tree nuts and water, if they are taking care of themselves and not pushing their lifestyle on you, you shouldn't push your lifestyle on them.

Chef V- The Green Drink
*** This post was sponsored by Chef V- in exchange for a 7 day supply of their Green Drink- these are my opinions and in no way are they swayed by the Chef V company***
At the start of every year I notice and sometimes join the bandwagon on a healthier lifestyle. This year was no exception and after reading a bit from Chef V, I decided to take their week long challenge of the "Green Drink".
I received my freshly blended organic drinks on Tuesday, February 3 and decided to wait for Wednesday to roll around to start adding these drinks to my diet. The directions are simple- 1 Cup (8 oz) serving 15 to 0 minutes before your meals, three times a day. I figured this was the perfect way to add greens into my diet.
Wednesday morning, I got up and had my drink around 6:30 am. The drink is quite refreshing with the taste of green (think spinach or lettuce) and a hint of apple. Having the drink so early in my day had me starving by 7:15 am, which was ok because it forced me to actually eat breakfast at home and not on the way to work. Lunch was a different story- I had the green drink with my lunch and it worked out great. The drink filled me up while i was eating so I didn't over eat at lunch. That night I had the green drink as a "snack" prior to bowling. It kept my hunger cravings for pizza and nachos at bay and allowed me to enjoy my salad when I got home.
In the week I had this drink available to me, I never found it difficult to add to my daily routine. In all actuality, it made my day easier and the thought of eating healthier easier. I noticed increased energy and better sleeping at night. I never got nauseous or queasy feeling or had any side effects, which honestly is amazing because I can bloat from lack of sleep. I even went down about 7 pounds.
I have to admit I was a bit sad when my week was over, but I fully intend on purchasing a subscription. It is rather affordable at $120 for the month by month subscription (there are other plans available, but I am not sure on the pricing) especially when you take into account the cost and time it takes for juicing or blending and cleaning your own produce then cleaning the mess afterward.
At some point I will try the cleanse, but I am not really a cleanse person, so that may take some time.
I challenge you guys to try the 7 days sample of the Green Drink from Chef V!
